The Council discussed the meeting schedule for June and July. The consensus of the Council <br />was to schedule the following meetings in June and July: <br /> <br />· June 7"' worksession- cancel <br />· Worksession to be scheduled if needed following the Park Commission/City Council <br /> joint meeting on June 9th <br />· July 5th worksession- cancel <br />· Worksession to be scheduled following the July Public Works Committee meeting <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated Mueller Theaters has invited the Council to visit their new <br />theater in Monticello. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to schedule a tour of the Mueller Theater in Monticello for <br />Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in the early afternoon. <br /> <br />3) Greenway Corridor Mapping <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon distributed a draft copy of the Greenway Corridor <br />Map to the Council. He indicated everything behind the scenes is slowly coming forward and <br />staff would like to schedule a joint meeting with the Planning Commission in late June or early <br />July to discuss the land use alternatives. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman explained the map that has been distributed is an update for the <br />Council. The full comprehensive plan process is on a fall schedule at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired what the situation would be with properties located in a preservation area <br />on the greenway plan in relation to property taxes and the ability to develop the land. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted there is land that may need to be purchased by the City to <br />implement the plan. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Strommen stressed the need to implement a policy in relation to the Greenway <br />Corridor Map. She suggested the Environmental Policy Board review the map in relation to the <br />wetland buffer ordinance. <br /> <br />Councihnember Strommen left the meeting at 8:21 p.m. <br /> <br />4) Domestic Abuse <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reviewed that the City Council recently discussed the Alexandra <br />llouse during a work session held on May 10, 2005. The Council requested to hear more about <br />domestic abuse in the City of Ramsey and Anoka County. Provided in the Council's packet is a <br />breakdown of domestic abuse in every city in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec indicated block grant funds are provided to Alexandra House by the County and <br />are intended to represent all of the communities served by Alexandra House. He suggested if <br />more of the Ramsey community was aware of Alexandra House there may be more clients from <br />their community utilizing the service. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / May 31, 2005 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
