Sergeant Way replied that they were not proposing to cancel National Night Out, but they were <br />not sure where funding would be coming from at this point. He noted that the Crime Prevention <br />Specialist was going to be working on receiving grants. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmenr~an stated that National Night Out is a worthwhile endeavor. <br /> <br />Sergeant Dwyer noted that the City does receive a tremendous amount of donations for national <br />night out. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler reviewed 2002 Fire budget requests, which included <br />an aerial ladder truck. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to where the aerial ladder truck would be housed. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler replied that the truck would be housed at City Hall <br />since it would be in closer proximity to the taller buildings. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired as to what the City's insurance rating was for fire safety for <br />homeowners insurance. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler replied that the City is rated at a six and a nine. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired if there was anything they could to do to improve that rating <br />or is that the best they can do. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler replied that the City of Anoka is rated at a four, but <br />they have a full-time Fire Department. He explained that a lot of the factors that are considered <br />when determining a rating are out of their control. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman inquired if Fire Chief Kapler thought it was possible to get to a five <br />without a full-time Fire Department. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler replied that he thought a rating of five would be <br />possible. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen inquired as to what would have to be done. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler explained some of the factors that are considered <br />when determining a city's rating, and noted that staff is looking to have a new evaluation done <br />soon. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen stated that he did not hear that the purchase of an aerial ladder truck <br />would improve the City's rating. <br /> <br />City Council/August .~, 2001 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
