Assistant City Administrator Nelson reviewed schematics of the site and the building. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler indicated there will be coordination with the Police Department to <br />bc sure thc layout of the building on the site is accessible for emergency access. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Finance Committee for Case No. 3 and to authorize staff to proceed with <br />the completion of design work and the preparation of construction documents for the <br />replacement of thc Park Shelter/Concession Stand at Central Park and to utilize the Lawful <br />Gambling Fund for the balance of the project as the City's donation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Olson, Elvig, Cook, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberJeffrey. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced the following: <br /> <br />· Elected Officials Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at Majestic Oaks, with dinner at <br /> 6:00 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br />· Rctircment Open House for Jim Balabon on June 30th at 2:00 p.m. <br />· A tour of the Monticello Theater for the Council. <br />· There is not a worksession scheduled for the week of July 4th. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen reported the Environmental Policy Board (EPB) presented the <br />Wetland Buffer Ordinance to the Planning Commission, and the Commission had some good <br />comments. Thc EPB revised the ordinance to clarify when the ordinance applies. The consensus <br />of the Board was to return to the Planning Commission with the revised ordinance to clear up <br />any remaining confusion. Once the ordinance has been reviewed by the Planning Commission <br />again it will come before the Council. She explained there will be a second piece to the <br />ordinance that relies on creating a map of the wetlands and classifying them by quality. The <br />required buffer would be determined by the quality of the wetland. The EPB has drafted a <br />recommendation regarding the additional funds that will be needed for the mapping processes. <br />'l'hc EPB would like to schedule a brief worksession topic to discuss this with the Council. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler announced there will be a controlled bum tomorrow night north of <br />thc Ramscy border in the Burns Township area that is serviced by the Ramsey Fire Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec indicated Councilmember Pearson, Public Works Director Kapler and himself <br />will be meeting with two members of the Bums Township Board to discuss the past fire contract <br />and othcr items. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman informed the Council of the upcoming worksession topics: <br /> · Discussion of policy guidelines for out of state travel expenses, as well as other expenses. <br /> <br />City Council / June 28, 2005 <br /> Page 23 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
