E. CONSERVATION POLICY. Preservation of the Protected Property will further those <br /> governmental policies established by the following: <br /> <br /> · Resolution#03-12-340, summarized as; <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council desires to protect ecologically significant <br />openspace associated with Trott Brook, by entering into an Agreement with the State of <br />Minnesota for the purpose of acquiring from willing landowners, Conservation and Trail <br />Easements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, open spaces are vital to our ecological, economic, and physical health; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, open space and natural features are an important element to community <br />identity in the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council desires to protect ecologically significant areas <br />with the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Trott Brook is a high quality, ecologically significant area that creates a <br />large natural corridor across the City. <br /> <br />Minnesota Laws 2001, First Special Session, Chapter 2, Section 14, Subdivision <br />4(e), which provides funding to accelerate the restoration of Minnesota's fish and <br />wildlife by reestablishing a network of statewide corridors that connect core units <br />of high quality habitat for the purpose of sustaining and enhancing fish and <br />wildlife populations, and restoring the integrity of natural communities that are <br />sustainable with human activities. <br /> <br />CONSERVATION INTENT. The Owner and the City are committed to protecting and <br />preserving the Conservation Values of the Protected Property in perpetuity. Accordingly, <br />it is their intent to create and implement a conservation and trail easement that is binding <br />upon the current Owner and all future owners of the Protected Property and that conveys <br />to the City the right to protect and preserve the Conservation Values of the Protected <br />Property for the benefit of this generation and generations to come. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
