Sustaining Our Legacy
The Future of Ramsey Town Hall
BUILDING DRAWINGS
BUILDING
IMPROVEMENTS
Architectural drawings —such as the ones shown below, which are based on previous
renderings —are not only necessary in the construction process, but are also invaluable for
historical documentation of early construction methods in Minnesota. The Old Ramsey Town
Hall is a unique resource in Ramsey, as well as in the larger architectural landscape of
Minnesota.
''''N'N'N'N'N'Nid N N N Ni Ni PhNNu
°,N°.41,1,10,h,°9ph,°9ph,°96,n,upw6'YpAn
--••••••••••••• s000soos
O NORTH ELEVATION
noodroi
Fill Fill
Fill'n° Y"Y"Y"Y"Y'IIY'IIN'll 'Yyw
I'Iuu'IuIIYu11Fill Nl1Id" dr dr IN IN IN NdwNddL° 1
------------------------------
'I,VI°I,V°NN dN dN kN kNl°kNl°kYl°°°In°I°In°I°In°I°In'I°In°I°IIY°IIY°IIY°IIY°IIY°IIY
*IN I uNaNaNINNINNJNN41i4'dt NN'iN
O SOUTH ELEVATION
FLOOR PLAN
N
CEDAR ROOFING
KELSEY BRICK
The brick was sourced locally at the
Kelsey Brothers Backyard in Anoka.
2 X 2 SASH WINDOWS
The original wood van down were
replaced during modern gram work.
BASEMENT
WINDOW WELLS
ti nnodem foundaO b bracing
elmnafed basement
windowe.
BASEMENT
WINDOW WE4S
Modern foundation bradng
eliminated basement
wintlows
CIRCLE CASEMENT
WINDOW
(Foes AexIs=iicurrently
DOUBLE ENTRY DOORS
ElPArOM
enfly. The brick and timbers used to
construct it would have been obtained from the surrounding area, making the building a
representation of late l9th century local industry. In the next poster, we propose improvements and
restoration work that can strengthen not only the integrity of the structure, but also its future
potential.
PA521 1: Land Use Planning / Instructor: Fernando Burga PhD.
Mary Cutrufello, Katriona Molasky, Amy Van Gessel
