City 4cofriseefivedit, s Cornre,,4
Bi-Annual Citizen Survey
Helps Shape Ramsey's
Future
Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator
Every other year, we ask residents to complete a
citizen's survey to identify the community's priorities.
This issue of the Ramsey Resident has a summary of the
results of the most recent survey. Be sure to check out
the information starting on page 9. More information
regarding the survey results can be found on our website
at wwwcityoframsey.com/670.
As we discuss survey results, the business adage of
the "customer is always right" comes to mind, especially
when we have taken the effort to ask people what they
think of Ramsey. The City Council uses the informa-
tion from the survey as a tool to determine priorities,
allocate budget dollars and to help shape the future
of the City. The survey identifies our residents' expec-
tations for City services, and our budget discussions
determine an appropriate level of resources to devote to
those activities.
Part of our mission here at the City of Ramsey is to
provide quality, cost-effective and efficient government
services. In order to meet residents' expectations for
the maintenance and upkeep of our streets, parks and
trails, we are constructing a new public works facility,
which is nearly complete. This facility houses our public
works department, which handles critical and import-
ant functions oflocal government like water and sewer
repair, street and park maintenance and, of course,
snow plowing. This building will house the people and
equipment needed to complete
these important tasks. We are
looking forward to a public open
house this fall to display this new
addition to City services.
Our Mission: To work together to
responsibly grow our community,
and to provide quality, cost-ef-
fective and efficient government
services.
4,1/1'
Art Fair at Elmcrest Park
Sunday, July 11
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Join the City of Ramsey and Rumriver Art
Center for the Elmcrest Art Fair, where communi-
ty members and visitors will be able to explore the
talents and inspiration oflocal artists — with many
original artworks available for purchase.
