" 9. l"ish, Wildlife and Ecologically Sensitive Resources <br /> Thc main impact urbanization has on plants and animals are from aloss of habitat. Another way that urbanization <br /> can affcct Wildlif~ is by fi'agmenting the natural habitat areas. Wildlife will be displaced due to the loss of habitat <br /> and fi'om noise and activity from construction. The wildlife will likely relocate to other nearby habitat. Some of the <br /> wildlife that leave due to construction of the development may return once it is complete. Some of the-wildlife will <br /> be permanently displaced due to habitat change and.stress from the new developments. <br /> l 6. Erosion and Sedimentation <br /> Thc area to be disturbed by'the project is 190 acres through the excavation 0f600,000 cubic yards of material. <br /> An firosion and Sedi~nent Control Plan and a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) will be <br /> sub~nitted and appro{,ed as required by the permitting agencies. <br /> MPCA 13est Management Practices (BMP) will be implement$d to mitigate erosion and-sediment, which are <br /> rcqnircd IUr all land distm-bances. Grading will be limited to roadway construction, storm water ponds, and house <br /> pads. BMPs to be implemented include silt f6nces, storm water basins, rock construction entrances, and seeding <br /> disturbed slopes, and will be implemented as soon as possible. The developer will obtain a National Pollutant <br /> Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit and comply with the requirements. <br /> 21. 'fraffic <br /> An increase in traffic flow will be generated in this area due to residential development. <br /> <br /> <br />
