CASE it <br /> PROPOSED ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE LICENSING AND <br /> PERMITS SECTION OF CITY CODE <br />By: Miek Kachler, Building Official & Katy Okerstrom, Permit Technician <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />mi'he Building Official and Building Permit Technician have been reviewing the contractors <br />licensing portion of the City Code with the City Clerk and suggest some basic housekeeping <br />languagc changes. The proposed language changes have also been reviewed by the City <br />Attorney and by the Community Development Director. <br /> <br />'l'tle fbllowing items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Existing Section 7.03 with deletions and additions proposed <br />Proposed ordinance to amend Sections 7.03 <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />[Jndcr thc current City Code, the Zoning Officer is the "authorized" individual responsible for <br />issuing building permits to individuals or firms for any construction work to be performed within <br />the City. This authorization, by State Code, should be conducted by the Building Official. <br /> <br />In addition, the current City Code states that applications for City Contractor license shall be <br />submitted to the Zoning Officer for approval, and then forwarded to the City Clerk for <br />processing.
