The acquisitions have been primarily
through thc Park Dedication process. To supplement this endeavor, the City applied to the state
for assistance. As the Commission may recall, lat in 2003, the City received a half million
dollars ($500,000) grant from the State of Minnesota. The appropriation is from the Legislative
Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCMR), which are proceeds from the Environment and
Natural Resources Trust Fund. These reimbursement monies are to be used for conservation and
trail casements within the Trott Brook Corridor and are available until June 1, 2006.

Motion by Commissioner Olds, seconded by Commissioner Ostrum, to table this item.

Motion carried. The project is at the north end of Potassium Street, which is
unimprovcd. The existing street will need to be improved to serve this development and the
adjacent Runt River Estates. The proposed street improvements are included in these plans. The
project will connect to 157th Lane using the existing Radium street stub. This project is in the
()ak Recreation district.

Chaiq)erson Johns stated she saw in the write up that a trail will be needed along Nowthen
Boulevard. Site wondered how they will do this with the wetland.

Civil Engineer II Linton stated the trail will be in the County right-of-way and appears to be
feasible, tie stated along with the internal trails, staff is recommending a trail and easement be
constructed for public access out onto Nowthen Boulevard. The northern cul-de-sac is private.

Commissioner Ostrum asked if they do not put a sidewalk in, is there any additional monies due
to the Park Commission.
