Mayor Gamec stated the City has been considering how to get across there for many years but it's <br />a problem because of the wetlands. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated there will be a large discussion on the road placement because it <br />will result in addressing the need for an east/west collector. He stated the Council has been very <br />busy working with road corridors and also planning to reroute Highway//47 down Dysprosium. <br />In addition,.the City received a federal gant of $2.5 million to look at the Thurston on/off ramp <br />and $1 million for a bridge across the MissisSippi River. Highway #10 has been mapped and <br />properties purchased to make it a feasible corridor. Councilmember Elvig stated the Council has <br />been extremely aggressive and successful in looking at highway, corridors. <br /> <br />Mr. Bud Augst, 15700 Traprock Street, asked Councilmember Cook to define the ordinance on <br />transition buffer zones between one area and a new developing area. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich stated the Council is under no obligation to answer a question tike this and <br />the Council is to receive resident comments at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec explained it is up to the City Council to consider several different options. He <br />stated it is not known at this time which will be considered with Traprock. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmernber Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #05- <br />03-085 Approving the Request and Authorizing Staff to Submit the Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment to the Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Strommen stated that her comments on the last case apply to <br />this case as well. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes:' Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Cook, and <br />Pearson. Voting No: Councilmember Strommen. Absent: Councilmember Olson. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Request for Sketch Plan Review of Brookfield Addition; -Case of Oakwood <br />Land Development <br /> <br />It was noted the staff report for Case #6 was presented with Case #5. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated the saturation was 50 units per year and Mr. Peterson indicated that <br />was a good year of sales so this would take six to seven years to fill out. He asked if the build <br />out could occur towards the north so the abutting areas are developed last instead of first. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson stated he is being asked to hold certain lots for future phases.
