Mn/DOT's staffhas reviewed the document and has the following comments.

Traffic
· Section 21-Traffic states that the estimated total average daily traffic would be 300 trips.
This estimate of trips is low. Based on the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip
Generation 7a' Addition the number of trips for a 162 single family housing development
would be 1,550 thps. The trip rate per dwelling is 9.57. In addition, the traffic section does
not address impacts to the regional transportation system. The EAW should include a
statement that this development will add traffic to the regional system in the area, which
includes TH 47 mid TH 10, Highway 47 is a preservation corridor and thus is not identified
for any expansion. Highway 10 is an Interregional Corridor and is identified to be upgraded
to a freeway, however; there curreutly is no funding for'construction m MraTlOT's 20 year
Transportation System Plan. If you have any questions regarding these comments please
contact Beth Neuendorf, Mn/DOT Area Engineer, at (651) 582-I !579.

Drainage
· Additional information should be submitted to determine whether a Mn/DOT Drainage
permit would be required. The EAW does not address how much added impervious surface
will be created or where the run-offstromwater will-lee directed. Please supply existing and
proposed grading plans and drainage maps that show flow arrows verifying that all existing
drainage patterns and systems affecting Mn/DOT right of way will be pexpctu~.ted. Also,
existing and proposed computations for thc 10 year and 100 year design storms should be
provided. The proposed development will need to maintain existing drainage rates to
Mn/DOT right of way (i.e., the rate at which storm water is discharged from the site must not
increase). Please direct questions concerning these issues to Richard Cady (651) 634-2075'of
Mr~DOT's Water Resources section.

State Aid Route
As a reminder, Armstrong Boulevard is County State Aid Route 83. Any work on a CSAH
route must meet State Aid rules and policies. Also, Anoka Count3' must review any changes

An eaual oDnortunitv ernDIover
