• Previous experience in commercial snow plowing • Previous experience working with asphalt pavements • Previous experience working with street sweeping equipment • Previous experience working in a county or municipal environment ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Construct/maintain streets, parking lots and related property • Perform snow related activities • Perform general maintenance and general activities • Perform general labor • Perform vehicle motorized equipment maintenance • Perform/assist with landscape/grounds care/forestry/naturalist activities • Provide assistance with preparation of community events • If the hired applicant has a Commercial driver's license (class must obtain a Commercial driver's license (Class A) within six months of hire • Perform a wide range of tasks at the verbal or written direction (within the ability and resources of the Public Works Streets Maintenance Worker) from the Public Works Superintendent, Parks Supervisor, Utility Supervisor or Streets Lead or their designee KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and communicate in English • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including cold or hot temperatures, high humidity, wind, or rain • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers • Ability to transport oneself to and around the work site • General knowledge of maintenance and landscape principles (streets, parks, facilities) • Ability to upgrade their Commercial Class B driver's license to a Commercial Class A driver's license within six months of hire JOB ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: The following are the physical activities that are associated with this position: • Standing • Walking • Lifting • Pushing/Pulling • Carrying • Climbing • Kneeling
