Class Code: <br />11008 <br />Bargaining Unit: None <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />Established Date: Jan 29, 2018 <br />Revision Date: Aug 11, 2021 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$13,00 - $18.00 Hourly <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />The City of Ramsey is seeking a Planning Intern to assist staff with multiple ongoing City <br />functions, projects and events including a variety of land use planning and zoning <br />administration activities, processing applications for conditional use permits and enforcement <br />of sign regulations, along with attending the monthly Planning Commission meetings, <br />selected Environmental Policy Board meetings and various public workshops. <br />This is a temporary internship working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday / 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 <br />p.m. beginning in mid September and running through approximately the end of the year <br />depending on availability, workload and rules of Minnesota Public Employment Labor <br />Relations Act (PELRA). Work hours may vary depending on assigned projects or if the <br />candidate is still attending school. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />• Must be at least 18 years of age or older <br />• Must have a valid state driver's license with good driving record <br />• Must be a current college student pursing a Bachelor's degree in planning, housing, <br />geography, urban studies or a related field; or recent graduate looking to gain <br />experience <br />• Must have intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge and skills <br />• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills <br />• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision <br />Desired Qualifications include: <br />• Previous experience working at a municipality or county office <br />• Previous experience in project management <br />• Previous experience in comprehensive planning <br />• Previous experience in building codes and zoning codes <br />
