tĻĻƩ /ƚƒƒǒƓźƷǤ tƚƚƌ CĻƓĭźƓŭ wĻƭĻğƩĭŷ <br /> <br />Anoka <br />Sec. 18-235. - Fences. <br />Outdoor private residential swimming pools shall be protected by a fence, wall or building or other <br />enclosure or any combination thereof. All fence openings or points of entry into the pool area enclosure <br />shall be equipped with gates. The fence and gates shall be at least four feet in height. All gates shall be <br />equipped with self-closing and self-latching devices placed at the top of the gate or otherwise <br />inaccessible to small children and provided with hardware for permanent locking devices. The openings <br />between the bottom of the fence and the ground surface shall not be more than four inches. <br /> <br />Andover <br />9-4-5: Access Barrier Requirements <br />A. Outdoor Swimming Pools: <br />1) All outdoor swimming pools constructed shall be completely enclosed by an access barrier <br />consisting of, fence, wall, combination thereof, or equally protective barrier of the non-climbing <br />type, so as to not be penetrable by toddlers. Such access barrier shall afford no external <br />handholds or footholds and be a minimum of four feet (4') in height. An access barrier must be <br />provided for aboveground pools except where the side wall height is entirely at least four feet <br />(4'), and the only pool access is by removable steps, which must be removed when the <br />swimming pool is unattended. (Amended Ord. 488, 3-5-19) <br />2) All outdoor points of entry through the access barrier or fence into the swimming pool area shall <br />be equipped with self-closing and self latching devices. Openings through or below the access <br />barrier shall not allow the passage of a 4-inch diameter sphere. (Amended Ord. 488, 3-5-19) <br />3) Alternative barrier/s to swimming pool fence may be allowed by the Building Official where <br />determined that the alternative barrier is equally impenetrable and protective of public safety. <br />Plans and specifications for any alternative barrier must be submitted to the Building Official <br />and must substantially demonstrate equal protection of public safety. A retractable pool cover <br />alone is hereby determined to not be equally protective. <br /> <br />Blaine <br />Section 18-424. Standards. <br />(b) Barrier/fencing and post materials shall be of substantial construction, decay or corrosion resistant, <br />and capable of resisting a 200 pound lateral load applied in any direction at any point along the top. All <br />fence posts shall be set in concrete bases or other suitable protection. Alternative barrier construction <br />materials, climbing protection, and design must be approved by the building official. <br /> <br />Dayton <br />1001.14 General Regulations Subd. 9 Swimming Pools <br />(5) Safety fence required. <br /> a. Fence required. A safety fence at least 4 feet in height shall completely enclose the pool. All <br />openings or points of entry into the pool area shall be equipped with gates or doors.
