She stated on average, them are six vehicle trips generated by this <br />business daily including their employee and deliveries/shipments. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated that the business is operated during <br />standard business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and the non-resident, <br />part-time employee generally keeps hours of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. <br />She indicatcd it is Staff's opinion that this is the type of low profile business that the City had in <br />mind when drafting thc Home Occupations ordinance. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy noted there was a complaint about the property. <br /> <br />Assistant Co~nmunity Development Director Frolik indicated there was one complaint regarding <br />thc business and an inordinate amount of deliveries. She stated that the number of trips per day <br />is below what is allowed for a home occupation, which is 24, with this business having an <br />average o[' six. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt asked if having an outside employee meets the guidelines. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated it does. <br /> <br />Public Input <br /> <br />('.hairperson Nixt opened the public hearing at 7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Chairperson Nixt to close the public hearing at <br />7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, Levine, <br />Shepherd, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Watson. <br /> <br />Commission Input <br /> <br />Motion by Comlnissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Brauer to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to Paul & Catherine Sills' request for an interim use <br />pet'm it fitvorable to the applicant, with the deletion of finding # 18. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik noted Staff received a letter today in support <br />o1: thc application. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked at what point you can have a detached business with no outside <br />cnlployccs. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated all of the options allow at least one <br />outside employee with a minimum of three acres under the Accessory Structure Home <br /> <br />Planning Commission/July 7, 2005 <br /> Page 4 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
