NORTH SUBURBAN MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />At the last meeting of North Suburban Mutual Aid Association the RIT policy was reviewed. <br />Some o£ the policy includes: <br /> <br />· One team on mutual aid involving structure fires, there will be dedicated radio space, the <br /> teton will consist of three or four firefighters and one officer, one year experience necessary. <br /> <br />· The officer will monitor the fire ground channel, all shall be prepared for action in full gear <br /> and equipment in the RIT team area shall be tested and ready for use. <br /> <br />· Equipment needed includes: Tarp, halogen tool, ax, oxygen, first aid kit, face mask, 150 feet <br /> of robe, two radios and two flashlights. <br /> <br /> Training for RIT will be two hours and will include: Review of past fatality cases, review of <br /> policy, discussion of what could go wrong, accountability, what to do if a firefighter gets lost <br /> and denies it, lack of radios and unorganized rescue efforts. There will also be a simulator <br /> drill of getting people in and out fast. <br /> <br />FIRE INSPECTOR/BUILDING INSPECTOR POSITION <br /> <br />· Goals of this position for the Fire Department will be to work on preplans, lock boxes and <br /> prioritize businesses by hazard and then inspect them. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />ME D ICA L/SCBA <br /> <br />Officer Weiss reviewed the Medical/SCBA report. <br /> <br />· The defibrillator was inspected and the battery changed. The battery was not plugged in. <br /> <br /> No medical reports were filled out in January. <br /> <br />· Prudential has grant money available. <br /> <br />· SCBA bottles were inspected and are full. <br /> <br />· Five firefighters will be attending a SCBA maintenance class. <br /> <br />· The filter was changed on the compressor. <br /> <br />· Mask cleaning solution was ordered. <br /> <br />· Two splint sets are missing, cardboard ones will be ordered for their replacement. <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS/FEBRUARY 4, 2001 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
