BUDGET 2002

Officers brought their prioritized list of capital needs to the meeting. Chief Kapler will
review for the 2002 budget.

There is a federal grant available for fire departments. Cities the size of Ramsey may submit
two $750,000 grant applications. The grants may be used for such items as stations,
equipment, wellness programs and fire prevention. To receive a grant the City must match
the grant 10%.

STATION #2 UPDATE

· The floor finish is scheduled to be applied to the apparatus bay floors on March 12th; the
finish requires a 5-day drying time. No one should walk on the floor during this time.

Thc electrical and mechanical work is still in process.

· Furniture is on order. It will take approximately four weeks for it all to arrive.

Spring work to be done includes outside chalking, painting of the outside doors and
landscaping.

Personal vehicles should not be washed at station #2 at this time. The Department would like
to determine the time it takes to fill the drainage tanks with regular Department use first.

STATION CLEANUP

· Thc Captains should contact their station group leader each month as a reminder.

RESCUE TRUCK

· Thc rescue truck is at Custom to have repairs completed.

· Thc service body has to be scheduled at J Craft for painting.

· The radio/light package needs to be purchased as well as decals.

CSO POSITION

· The CSO officer will work 9-1, Monday through Friday.

· He will attend fire calls as a firefighter during his scheduled hours, rescue call
responsibilities will be determined by his supervisor.

FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS/MARCH 6, 2001
