PATCH Officer Streich will contact the graphics company to see if the patch design drawings will be available for the February Department meeting. Stickers with the same design will be made for equipment. NEW FIREFIGHTERS There will be an information session Saturday, February 16, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. for those interested in becoming a firefighter. At this time there are 38 people interested in attending. A Power Point presentation will be distributed to those who are able to attend. · Any firefighters interested in attending to answer questions after the formal presentation are welcome to do so. · Agility testing will be done at Station #1. Thc Department is looking at hiring 10 firefighters at this time to help fill the need at Station #2. Officers discussed how to train and equip this large of a group. Consensus is to consider a 60-day (rather than 90) period with the Department, then attend the Fire Fighter I class held at the station with First Responder class attendance after 12 months with the Department. Thc Department would give additional training sessions as well as create a new check off tbrm for documentation of the firefighter's progress. WATERRESCUEUPDATE · Thc boat and trailer will arrive soon. At that time the Department will purchase a motor. ° Officer Lemm will look at rearranging the training schedule so Water Rescue can be held as soon as the ice is out of the lakes. BURNS COVERAGE PROPOSAL REVIEW Officers reviewed the proposal to provide service to Bums Township. ARIEIJ LADDER TRUCK COMMITTEE During the February Business Meeting a Ladder Truck Committee will be formed. · Thc goal is to have the specs prepared by April 1st and approved with authorization for bids at the 2nd City Council meeting of April.
