NORTH SUBURBAN MUTUAL AID <br /> <br />· Two bills before the Legislature this session are Cigarette manufacturers to sell cigarettes <br /> that stop burning if not inhaled and the legalization of fire works. <br /> <br />· There will be a fire fighter memorial at the State Capitol. <br /> <br />The I)NR service will remain the same even with State budget cuts, however, Carlos Avery <br />will be staffed only at peak season; at off peak times they will be in Cambridge only. A daily <br />computer update will be given during the brown period. <br /> <br />MAlL BETWEEN STATIONS <br /> <br />· In baskets will be purchased for each station. Mail and incident reports will be shuttled <br /> between stations and put in these baskets. <br /> <br />FIRE PREVENTION/INVESTIGATION UPDATE <br /> <br />· Officer Streich will take 20 to 30 minutes at each Business Meeting to discuss fire <br /> prevention, which includes preplans. <br /> <br />· A new department newsletter will focus on fire safety, training, trivia and will have a Chief's <br /> corner. This newsletter will be for the Department. <br /> <br />· Officer Streich reviewed the ongoing investigations. <br /> <br />FIRE FIGHTER II CERTIFICATIONS FOR OFFICERS <br /> <br />· Officers who are not Fire Fighter II certified should attend a weekend State School to <br /> become certified. It includes one day of preparation and one day of testing. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />A S,5'IS7'.A NT CHIEF <br /> <br />· Mop heads are needed for Station #2. <br /> <br />In January there were 24 calls, 7 were rescue, of which 2 were CO and 17 were fire. There <br />were 11 day calls, 8 night calls and 5 weekend calls. There were 2 Mutual Aid calls. Total <br />dollar damage is $500. <br /> <br />· Year to date there has been 24 calls, 7 were rescue of which 2 were CO and 17 were fire. <br /> There were 2 Mutual Aid calls.
