AR! EL LADDER TRUCK COMMITTEE <br /> <br />The committee will make a visit to Andover Fire Department this week. <br /> <br />ALARMS SOG <br /> <br />Chief Kaplcr reviewed the results of the meeting. A written SOG will follow. <br /> <br />FEMA GRANT UPDATE <br /> <br />The Department will request $147,000 for such items as a thermal imaging camera SCBA <br />and RIT equipment, <br /> <br />The Department is considering requesting a mobile cascade system, however, this is a new <br />feature to the Department and might be something FEMA is not interested in financing. <br /> <br />Officer Streich will hand out copies of the grant at the business meeting for firefighters to <br />review and critique. <br /> <br />The Department has spent $57,121.39 of the 2001 FEMA grant. Items yet to be received are <br />thc truck, topper, code books, hearing impaired equipment and lock boxes. <br /> <br />The Department's fugal shopping and having fewer buildings than budgeted for has made it <br />possible to make the lock boxes available free of charge. The lock boxes will be purchased <br />directly frown the manufacturer. Also, the Department will have approximately a balance of <br />$6,500 - $7,000 to purchase investigation equipment, two generators, coveralls or respirator <br />equipment. <br /> <br />o, Keys were replaced in the lock boxes already installed. <br /> <br />FIRE PREVENTION/INVESTIGATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Officer Streich has completed the building re-inspections. <br /> <br />The City will sponsor a Safety Camp for 120 - 4th and 5th grade students July 16 and 17, <br />2002. It is in the planning stages at this time. There will be 45-minute sessions on such <br />topics as guns, fire, drowning, bike safety and traffic safety. <br /> <br />Officer Streich reviewed the ongoing investigations. <br /> <br />MAIL BETWEEN STATIONS <br /> <br />Ideas of how to transport mail from station to station were discussed. <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS/FEBRUARY 5, 2002 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
