Bids will be received until July 12, 2002. <br /> <br />FIREWORKS UPDATE <br /> <br />City Council adopted a Fireworks Ordinance. It establishes guidelines for the sale of <br />fireworks. A license will have to be obtained with a $250 fee. The distributor will be limited <br />to 200 lbs. in a sprinkled building and 50 lbs. in an un-sprinkled building. <br /> <br />Thc I)epartment will keep data and statistics of incidents relating to the sale of fireworks to <br />determine if the $250 fee is enough to cover costs in prevention and suppressing these types <br />of fires and rescue calls. <br /> <br />VISION EASE ISSUES <br /> <br />Thc Dcpartment is experiencing radio problems in the building. <br /> <br />· l,'irclighters will make a visit to Vision Ease with their radios and look for the bad spots in <br /> thc building. <br /> <br />WORKER'S COMP INSURANCE DETAILS <br /> <br />Worker's Comp has two levels of wage benefits for firefighters. The firefighter will receive <br />payment either on their regular position or based on the closest full-time department <br />fircfighter pay. This will be determined on which ever is more fair. <br /> <br />· Fircfighters also have disability insurance with the Relief Association. <br /> <br />FIR E P REVENTION/INSPECTION UPDATE <br /> <br />· Inth's is up and running. Previous years' reports are in the process of being entered. Once <br /> thc cquipment is set up at Station #2 current reports will be processed using Infirs. <br /> <br />· Fire Prevention day at the State Fair is August 23,a. Fair organizers are looking for fire trucks <br /> to bc at the fair for the day. <br /> <br />IS() U lq)ATE <br /> <br />Intbrmation sheets have been received from the ISO office to be completed and returned to <br />them. Once this is completed a site visit will be made.
