· Thc DNR is looking into an electronic burning permit. This would take control and funds <br /> from the local departments. <br /> <br /> Discussion took place that a burning ban should include recreational fires. <br /> <br />- Anoka County Sheriffs Department now has a Chaplain office. The Chaplain may be called <br /> when it is deemed necessary. <br /> <br />· Burns, Oak Grove, East Bethel, Bethel, and St. Francis Departments are looking into creating <br /> a Fire District. They have until June 1st to hire a consultant. <br /> <br />· Thank you to Assistant Chief Hoxter for filling in for Chief Kapler at the meeting. <br />ADDRESS ISSUES IN TOWNHOME DEVELOPMENTS <br /> <br />· Townhome Developments will have changes made to their addresses so house numbers are <br /> not the same on streets with similar names, such as 154th Lane, Way, Terrace Court, etc. <br /> <br />MONTIlLY REPORTS <br /> <br />7'R/I/NING <br /> <br />· April training included Grass Fire Prep, Trauma Emergency Assessment, Pump Classroom, <br /> and Major Maintenance. <br /> <br />· May training includes Hands On Pump Test, SCBA Training, Medical Emergency <br /> Assessment, and Water Rescue. The Pump Test begins at 5:00 p.m. Officer Lecy will check <br /> to scc the possibility of using an island near the Boy Scout Camp for the Water Rescue. <br /> <br />· Officers have completed the driving assignment with the new fire fighters and there are no <br /> concerns with their driving. <br /> <br />· There will be a joint training in June with the Police Department. <br /> <br /> May 15th will be an Emergency Management workshop. <br /> <br /> At the June 18~h drill a 10 minute video on PAPR units will be shown. <br /> <br />NI,;W I, TREFIGHTER UPDATE <br /> <br />· Firctighters will be receiving their badges at the May 13tn City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />MA./OR MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />· Tanker #1 spot light is working. <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS/MAY 6, 2003 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
