· At grass fires bunker pants and grass coats should be worn; NFPA does not recognize the <br /> lighter gear or leather gloves. PAR should be used at grass fires also, it is not just for <br /> structure fires. <br /> <br />BURNING BAN <br /> <br />· The State burning ban has been lifted. <br /> <br />INVESTIGATION UPDATE <br /> <br />· Chief Kapler reviewed the current investigations. <br /> <br />ISO PROCESS <br /> <br />· Evaluation is scheduled. June 16th there is a meeting with City Administrator James Norman <br /> and Chief Kapler. The morning o£the 17th the Water Department will meet with the <br /> representative and in the afternoon Chief Kapler and Officer Streich will meet with him to <br /> cover training and maintenance records. The evening of the 17th tank operations will be <br /> scheduled. June 1 gth a flow test will be performed on various hydrants throughout the city. <br /> <br />AUTO AID UPDATE <br /> <br />· The Departments involved (Ham Lake, Andover, Oak Grove and Ramsey) will meet on May <br /> ] 3th to discuss what equipment each department should bring to a structure fire in each city. <br /> <br />· Automatic aid should be established by mid June, in time for the ISO evaluation. <br /> <br />· The hours of operation are 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. <br /> <br />1306 PROCESS <br /> <br />· Building Code 1306 will be brought to City Council May 25th for them to review and look at <br /> adopting. This amendment will lower the threshold of the building size needed to be <br /> sprinkled. Cost to the developer will be minimal as iron pipe is no longer required. <br /> <br />MINNESOTA FIRE SERVICE CERTIFICATION BOARD UPDATE <br /> <br />· Firefighters should check with Assistant Chief Hoxter or Lemm as to when their certification <br /> is due. <br /> <br />RECRUITMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />· Interviews will take place next week. <br /> <br />· Daytime response number one priority. <br /> <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT/MAY 12, 2004 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
