HOUSE FIRE REVIEW <br /> · Chief Kapler gave a review of the house fire across from City Hall and <br /> homeowners were pleased with all the departments that responded and noted that <br /> Auto aid was paged out and responded. <br /> <br />NEW RADIO SYSTEM UPDATE <br /> · New radios were distributed October 14th. <br /> <br />RESCUE/t2 <br /> · Adam Gordon reports that the last 2 doors were re-ordered for the rescue track <br /> and be about 2 weeks. Delivery of the completed rescue truck should be <br /> sometime in early November. <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE <br /> · Probably was the best turnout ever (estimated about 200 people) and the weather <br /> was perfect. Thanks to the extrication volunteers. Allina Medical participated. <br /> Served a lot of hot dogs and ran out of the kegs of root beer. <br /> <br />2005 OFFICER POSITIONS <br /> · The City Council approved the additional 2 Lieutenant positions. The officers <br /> group will work together to establish the job descriptions and the application <br /> process will be in November. <br /> <br />FACILITIES ISSUES <br /> Chief Kapler discussed that Firestation #1 is getting a lot of use lately. Connexus <br /> has been utilizing the facility also. Will need to try and keep it scheduled to one <br /> event per day. Tuesday's are blocked for City Council meetings and <br /> Wednesday' s are reserved for the fire department and the parking stalls have been <br /> painted to alert visitors that this is fire department parking only. <br /> <br />BURNS TOWNSHIP REVIEW <br /> · Bums Township is happy with the level of service and will continue with the <br /> contract. The activity level has been higher than anticipated and Chief Kapler <br /> asked "is this is overwhelming." ChiefKapler also mentioned to keep in mind <br /> that the Sheriff's department is the enforcement. <br /> · The call on October 12th to the Alliant Tech facility turned out to be smoke from <br /> some testing on munitions. <br /> <br />SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS <br /> Extrication crew at the open house (the Gordon kids) and all the f'trefighters that <br /> participated. <br /> · Mike Dahlberg for T-shirts. <br /> · Matt Kohner for Station # 2 Training Room. <br /> · Bob Simpson for installing the cipher locks. <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT/OCTOBER 13, 2004 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
