EMT Refresher - December 7/practice - December 10/practice - December 15/test.
Discussion has taken place about getting everyone on the "same track" which is
probably not realistic.

National Fire Academy - Chief Kapler inquired who would be available to go. He
urged all who could to send in the registration as he has heard that we have a very
good chance to go again. He asked that the registrations be in by Friday, September
4.

CPR Instructor - Chief Kapler noted that some of the instructors did not make it but
we still have this opportunity for late 1998 to make substantial money for Ramsey's
Fire Department.

MAJOR MAINTENANCE

Captain #11 Simpson reviewed the maintenance.

Exhaust system on Tanker 1 - $250

· Batteries for gas monitor - They did not have record of them being ordered before so
Captain Simpson reordered them and they should be arriving in 7 to 10 days.

· Storz on front suction - Mr. Simpson will switch that back

Sensors for gas monitor - Chief Kapler expressed concern that they might not be
callibratable. Lieutenant McLaughlin responded that "they should let you know if
they are not".

I-lose Washer/Pressure Washer ~ Lieutenant McLaughlin reported that Bob Litke
asked for a quote on a hose washer as he had someone who might be interested in
donating one to the Department. Simpson felt that a pressure washer would be very
useful. Chief Kapler wondered if one could be purchased for about $300 and
Simpson offered to check on that. Chief Kapler cautioned that the Department is way
over on their miscellaneous operating expenses for this year so it may be a more
feasible purchase in January 1999.

Captain #11 Sharp reviewed equipment.

· New pager batteries have been issued; one pager is in for repair.

New maps are being checked on

· Working with Metro Fire on new gear - it has been ordered and we can expect
delivery the end of October

Fire Officers Meeting/September 1, 1998
