ChiefKapler offered that <br />if the duty officer should not be here for the weekend, he should call someone to take <br />over. McLaughlin commented about the importance of the two duty officers <br />communicating. <br /> <br />Popular weekend coverage - Labor Day -Jon McLaughlin. <br /> <br />SAFETY CONCERNS <br /> <br />There were no safety concerns to speak of. <br /> <br />CAPITAL ISSUES <br /> <br />100' garbage hose - McLaughlin suggested the hose be of a different color and <br />determined that if this hose was garbage line, we should maybe try the double <br />jacketed polyester material. Chief Kapler noted that the budget contains $1,200 for <br />one pre-emption emitter plus another $1,200 for replacement hose and we have not <br />yet purchased hose this year. Assistant Chief Hoxter stated he is "game" to try the <br />double decker polyester hose and added that it seems everyone is going to that type of <br />hose material. Simpson stated he would order 100' of the double jacketed polyester <br />hose in a different color. <br /> <br />Nozzles - Chief Kapler noted that in the budget we also have money for two, 2-1/2 <br />inch nozzles for a total of $1,010. There have been discussion about going with a low <br />pressure high gallon nozzle and we should get the prices on that. Chief Kapler stated <br />that the Department has four, 2-1/2 inch nozzles right now. He added that we seldom <br />use 2-1/2 inch nozzles, but felt that the Department needs to broaden its look and <br />attention to some commercial/industrial type things also. <br /> <br />MINIMUM TRAINING LEVELS <br /> <br />Discussion on 50% minimum training levels. Included were issues of non- <br />compliance and recourse to be taken. Group agreed on 50% calculated quarterly. <br />Non-compliance issues will be put to the Department in the near future.
