FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Department conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 1998, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Cthief Kapler called the regular meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />There were nineteen people in attendance. There were no additions to the agenda. <br /> <br />A meeting with Rick Ketcher, the investment advisor for the Relief Board was held at 6:00 p.m. <br />The investments have not done as well as in the past, which is universal, however, he <br />recommends and the board agreed to stay the same course for three more years. The investment <br />policy is 70% in mutual funds and stocks, and 30% in bond and mortgage funds. The <br />Department has eight people vested. <br /> <br />The state aide check for approximately $40,000 should arrive within the next two weeks. <br /> <br />MONTItLY REPORTS <br /> <br />TRAINING <br /> <br />Torn Hoxter reviewed the training for August. Training included Pre-plan Ferrel Gas, Pump <br />Cut-Outs and physicals were done. <br /> <br />September training will include Water Relay, 02 Airway Management, a Pump Test on all <br />three pumps, and Major Maintenance. <br /> <br />Chief Kapler announced the EMT refresher course will be held December 7, 10 and 15. <br /> <br />There is an opportunity for the Department to earn some money by instructing a CPR course. <br />Three people need the CPR Instructor refresher course before this can happen, Ron Lemm <br />will be setting up a course. <br /> <br />MAJOR MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />Bob Simpson reviewed the maintenance. <br /> <br />Tanker One is in for repair until Friday, September 11, 1998. The exhaust has been repaired, <br />howcver, the pump is tore apart. The Anoka and Andover Departments are on notice while <br />Tanker One is in for repair. The SCBAs that were on the Tanker are up against the wall. <br /> <br /> <br />
