FIRE DEPARTMENT CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Fire Department conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 1998, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. CALL TO ORDER Cthief Kapler called the regular meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:05 p.m. There were nineteen people in attendance. There were no additions to the agenda. A meeting with Rick Ketcher, the investment advisor for the Relief Board was held at 6:00 p.m. The investments have not done as well as in the past, which is universal, however, he recommends and the board agreed to stay the same course for three more years. The investment policy is 70% in mutual funds and stocks, and 30% in bond and mortgage funds. The Department has eight people vested. The state aide check for approximately $40,000 should arrive within the next two weeks. MONTItLY REPORTS TRAINING Torn Hoxter reviewed the training for August. Training included Pre-plan Ferrel Gas, Pump Cut-Outs and physicals were done. September training will include Water Relay, 02 Airway Management, a Pump Test on all three pumps, and Major Maintenance. Chief Kapler announced the EMT refresher course will be held December 7, 10 and 15. There is an opportunity for the Department to earn some money by instructing a CPR course. Three people need the CPR Instructor refresher course before this can happen, Ron Lemm will be setting up a course. MAJOR MAINTENANCE Bob Simpson reviewed the maintenance. Tanker One is in for repair until Friday, September 11, 1998. The exhaust has been repaired, howcver, the pump is tore apart. The Anoka and Andover Departments are on notice while Tanker One is in for repair. The SCBAs that were on the Tanker are up against the wall.
