· Two new batteries were ordered for the gas monitor. <br /> <br /> Storz on Engine One will be switched back to the way it was. <br /> <br />· The overhead doors have been serviced and the hinges repaired. <br />I?ADIO 'S/PA GERS/TURNOUT GEAR <br />Jim Sharp reviewed equipment. <br /> <br />· New pager batteries have been issued. One pager is in for repair. <br /> <br />° New turnout gear for four fire fighters have been ordered and delivery is expected the end of <br /> October. <br /> <br />· The HT- 1000 radios will be in the tankers this month. The 600s are being reprogrammed. <br /> <br />· Thc red tag radio channel lists are on the radios now. <br /> <br />° At the Metro Fire Chief's meeting, Chief Kapler learned Hennepin County is aggressive in <br /> changing over to the 800 Mega Hertz system and Anoka County is not pursuing the change <br /> over. This is a concern for the Department in regards to the ordering and budgeting of radios, <br /> the hand held are not compatible to the 800 system. The Department will keep an eye on <br /> Anoka County and their pursuing the 800 Mega Hertz system. <br /> <br />INCIDENT REPORT <br /> <br />· Chief Kapler reported there were twenty-nine calls in August, of which ten were rescue and <br /> nineteen were fire. <br /> <br />· Year to date, as of August, there have been two hundred forty-three calls, of which sixty-four <br /> were rescue and one hundred seventy-nine were fire. <br /> <br />MEDICAL/SCBA <br /> <br />· Chris Weiss reported new air splints were ordered. As they are used, let them go and don't <br /> worry about getting them back. <br /> <br />· Finex hasbeen ordered. <br /> <br />· If tanks are full, shut the compressors off. <br /> <br />° Engine One will be geared up for PALS and then the Department will wait until the OSHA <br /> requirements and NFPA recommendations are out before equipping the other vehicles. <br /> <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT/SEPTEMBER 9, 1998 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
