PERSONNEL ISSUES <br /> <br />Chief Kapler is working on a job description for the Station Chief position. Most of the <br />duties will cover administrative gear and maintenance issues for each station. The <br />Department is looking for an early 2000 implementation. <br /> <br />· The Department is looking into responding to coded medical calls. <br /> <br /> The procedure is the 911 operator dispatches the calls to Allina, Allina codes the calls from <br /> level one to five. Fire fighters decide at which level they will respond. <br /> <br />· This wouldn't have to be department wide, however, there would have to be enough involved <br /> to make it work. <br /> <br />· Some options might be for the fire fighter to take a vehicle and equipment home and respond <br /> to the call from there. <br /> <br />· Compensation would possibly be an on call type pay. <br /> <br />· The consensus was for the Department to propose the coded medical call response. <br /> <br />ANNUAL PHYSICALS <br /> <br />· Annual physicals will be September 22nd. It will not include a chest x-ray. <br /> <br />}lAM LAKE ISO EVALUATION <br /> <br />· The ltam Lake Fire Department will use Tanker Two for their ISO evaluation. There will be <br /> a trial run on September 13th and the actual test will be September 20th. <br /> <br />· There are no fire hydrants in Ham Lake. <br /> <br />FIRE PREVENTION WEEK <br /> <br />· Fire Prevention week is October Td - 9~h. <br /> <br />· Materials have been ordered for 300 children. <br /> <br /> There will be activities all week, however, the Department will concentrate on October 7th <br /> alld 8th. <br /> <br />· Volunteers are needed. <br /> <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT/SEPTEMBER 8, 1999 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br />MEDICAL CALLS <br /> <br /> <br />
