ORDINANCE #05-XX <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A:N ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE <br />MUNICIPAL REGULATIONS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA REGULATING THE OPERATION OF WATERCRAFT ON THE RUM <br />RIVER. <br /> <br />AN ORI)INANCE ADDING SECTION 5.18 WATERCRAFT REGULATIONS TO <br />CItAPTER 5 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />'['l~c City o I~ Ramsey hereby ordains as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />C}utptcr 5 of' Ramsey City Code is hereby amended with the following section: <br /> <br />5.18 WATERCRAFT REGULATIONS <br /> <br />5.18.01 Purpose <br /> <br />/\v; autlat)ri×ed by Minnesota statutes 86B.201, 86B.205, and 459.20, AND Minnesota Rules <br />61l 0.3000 - 6110.3800 as now in effect and as hereafter amended, this Ordinance is enacted for <br />thc purpose and with the intent to regulate the operation and speed of watercraft on the Rum <br />River within the city limits of the City of Ramsey. The limitations contained in this ordinance <br />ira: designed to prevent and limit the erosion which is occurring to the banks and shoreline of the <br />Rum River within the City of Ramsey. This ordinance is designed to protect persons and <br />property in connection with the use of said waters; to harmonize and integrate the varying uses of <br />~aid waters; and to promote the general health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Ramsey. <br /> <br />5. 8.02 Definitions <br /> <br />'['he f~l lowing words and phrases, when used in this ordinance, shall have the meanings set forth: <br /> <br />Person includes an individual, partnership, corporation or any body of persons, whether <br />incorporated or t~ormed as association or not. <br /> <br />Operate means to navigate or otherwise use a watercraft. <br /> <br />Watercraft is as defined in Minnesota Statutes 86B.005, Subd. 18. <br /> <br />Slow-No-Wake means the operation of a watercraft at the slowest possible speed necessary to <br />mztint[tin steerage and in no case greater than five (5) miles per hour. <br /> <br /> <br />
