Rum River is that body of water located on the east side of the City of Ramsey, which borders <br />thc Cities of Andover and Anoka from Ramsey. <br /> <br />5. [ 8.03 Regulations <br /> <br />N~ person shall operate a watercraft of greater than a slow-no-wake speed (five [5] miles per <br />hour) on the Rmn River within the following slow-no-wake zones in the Rum River identified on <br />thc attached map: <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />Location (Mile Marker) <br />4.4 - 5.2 Mile Marker <br />Anoka/Ramsey City Limits - 4.4 Mile Marker <br /> <br />The slow-no-wake zone shall be in effect all twenty-four hours of the day, all year. <br /> <br />5.18.04 12xemptions <br /> <br />Authorized resource management, emergency and enforcement personnel, when acting in the <br />pcrtbrma~ce of their duties, shall be exempt from the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> <br />5. l 8.05 Markings <br /> <br />Thc Anoka County Sheriff's Department shall be responsible for informing the public, posting <br />notification at all public accesses and marking or buoying the slow-no-wake zone as necessary to <br />give reasonable notice to the speed restrictions established. <br /> <br />5.18.06 [,h~forcement <br /> <br />Thc primary responsibility for enforcement of this ordinance shall rest with the Anoka County <br />SherifFs Department. This, however, shall not preclude enforcement by other licensed peace <br />officers? including Conservation Officers of the Department of Natural Resources of the State of <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />5. l 8.07 Penalty <br /> <br />Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor and <br />upon conviction shall be punished by a fine and/or imprisonment. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. SUMMARY. <br /> <br />Thc following official summary of Ordinance #05-xx has been approved by the City Council of <br />the City of' Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />It is thc intent and effect of Ordinance #05-xx to amend Chapter 5.18 (Watercraft Regulations) of <br />the Ramscy City Code Chapter 5 (Municipal Regulations) to regulate Watercrafts on the Rum <br />River within the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br /> <br />
