CASE # <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION OF IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 05-24 <br />ST. FRANCIS BOULEVARD FRONTAGE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS <br />By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Thc City received a petition for various street and utility improvements ~n July 7, 2004. <br />The attached feasibility study outlining the project details, costs, and financing was <br />lm)vided to each property owner and a public hearing was held on May 17, 2005 and was <br />continued and adjourned on June 28, 2005. The sixty day waiting period specified by <br />section 4.60.05 sub. 1 of City Code for projects of this nature has now passed and the <br />Council may now act to order the preparation of plans and specifications for the work <br />outlined in the feasibility study. <br /> <br />This project proposes to grade the roadway to a width of 28 feet with the additional 6 feet <br />of width extending westward from the existing alignment. The pavement section shall <br />cot~sist of 4 inches of class 5; two inches of bituminous base course and 1.5 inches of <br />bituminous wear course. The easternmost eight feet of this section shall be striped for use <br />as a trail for pedestrian and non motorized traffic. The southern terminus of the roadway <br />shall be provided with a 70 foot diameter cul de sac. <br /> <br />l{ecommendation: <br /> <br />Stal't' recommends tl~at this project be ordered and that the City Council direct that staff <br />prepare plans and specifications for the improvements. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Mot/on to adopt resolution 05-09-XXX ordering Improvement Project 05-24, Saint <br />Francis Boulevard Frontage Road Improvement, and that staff be directed to prepare <br />plans and specifications for the improvements. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Di rector of Public Works/Fire Chief <br />Assistant Public Works Director/Principal Engineer <br /> <br />CC: 09/13/05 <br /> <br /> <br />
