MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FI~OM: <br /> <br />Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />September 13, 2005 <br /> <br />StJBJI.;CT: Approval to Operate a Raffle <br /> <br />Thc attached application is from the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce for exemption <br />from a lawful gambling license to hold a raffle at The Links Northfork Golf Course. City <br />approval/denial is necessary under the State Statues. The Twin Cities North Chamber of <br />Commerce meets all of the requirements which allows them to remain exempt from licensing, <br />primarily Ii'om the standpoint that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than $12,000. <br /> <br />Approwtl requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
