Adding indirect costs in the amount of 14-percent brings total project costs to <br />$119,626.73 . <br />Per the final plans and specifications, estimated construction costs were $96,209.00. After adding 14-percent for <br />indirect costs for administrative, engineering, finance and legal costs, estimated project costs totaled $109,678.26. <br />The low bid is 8-percent more than the engineer's estimate, primarily due to higher than estimated bituminous <br />paving, concrete, and pavement marking costs. <br />The funding source for these improvements is proposed to be taken from the Facility Funds, which has an adequate <br />balance to fund these improvements. <br />City Staff proposes to administer and inspect construction. <br />Plans and specifications were prepared in-house as part of Staff's normal duties. <br />Outside costs incurred to date as engineering indirect costs include: <br />• $100.00 for SPC Engineering & Testing, Inc. to perform pavement coring for determining existing pavement <br />thickness. This cost is included in the 14% indirect project costs. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends adopting Resolution #22-021 accepting bids and awarding contract for Improvement Project <br />#21-10, Fire Station No.1 Parking Lot Improvements, to North Valley, Inc. for the bid in the amount of <br />$104,935.73. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #22-021 accepting bids and awarding a contract for Improvement Project #21-10, Fire <br />Station No.1 Parking Lot Improvements, to North Valley, Inc. for the bid in the amount of $104,935.73. <br />Attachments <br />
