VI. ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION <br />• Metro Transit mask mandate and social distancing stipulations <br />— Metro Transit falls under TSA requirements for certain conveyances including all public <br />transit. TSA's mandate is set to expire March 18. Brian Funk indicated that Metro Transit <br />will watch for early indications of extensions/renewals of the mandates and monitor how <br />they apply to MT's services. Social distancing is not required but strongly encouraged on <br />all mass transit modes. <br />• Meghan Matheson (Anoka County) <br />- New TCAP grant has been approved through MnDOT. It provides transit ridership <br />training for people who are hesitant of using transit. It offers potential riders one-on-one <br />travel training. <br />- Meghan will distribute TAP passes to public. <br />• Future of Northstar <br />- A study of the corridor, lead by METC planning unit will be completed this year and will <br />determine next steps. <br />- Riders are missing special event trains. This service is being examined for 2022. It was <br />suggested that Metro Transit reach out to Jim Pohlad to partner a solution. <br />- Reverse commute has been requested (south to north). Metro Bus offered to work with <br />Metro Transit with this consideration. <br />- No active congressional hearings currently. Information regarding the active Senate bills <br />involving Northstar Commuter Rail is listed below. <br />• Koznick, Petersburg and Scott introduced: <br />N.... IC:..0 A bill for an act relating to transportation; providing for contingent termination <br />of the Northstar Commuter Rail line. <br />The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Transportation <br />Finance and Policy. <br />• Koznick, Petersburg and Scott introduced: <br />I::N.......IFE,:... : vu , A bill for an act relating to transportation; providing for termination of the <br />Northstar Commuter Rail line; making a contingent appropriation. <br />The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Transportation <br />Finance and Policy. <br />• Koznick, Petersburg and Scott introduced: <br />II.1, [7, 3469, A bill for an act relating to transportation; establishing performance <br />requirements and conditional termination of the Northstar Commuter Rail line. <br />The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Transportation <br />Finance and Policy. <br />VII.
