Mark Riverblood
From:
Mary Jo Warner
Sent:
Thursday, March 3; 2022 8:10 AM
To:
Mark Riverblood
Subject:
FW: Peltzer Park
Hi Mark, this is the only comment I have received so far.
-----Original Message -----
From: (lassie Bakke <bakke04@gmail.com>
Sent: Wednesday, March 2, 2022 5:31 PM
To: Mary Jo Warner <MWarner@ci.ramsey.mn.us>
Subject: Peltzer Park
Hx Mary Jo,
My name ism and I received a letter in the mail asking for some input regarding Peltzer Park!
My husband and I are very excited to hear that the city allows us the opportunity to share our
thoughts with our neighborhood park. I have a basic list of some playground equipment that would
be fun for the park as well as nature/trails ideas too.
Starting with the playground equipment: various types of climbers (snake, mountain, or wall),
swings, tire swing, tubes, gliders (various heights), activity panels, and of course slides.
I tried to find some playground examples to see what else is available for parks. The equipment at the
newly remodeled Booster Park has great climbing equipment, but I am unsure of the specific titles for
it.
Since there is a big field at the park, maybe adding soccer goals, or disk golf would be a nice addition.
Teenagers visit the park in the evening and play various sports in the field and providing some
amenities for sports would be wonderful.
It would be nice to see the trail enter in from the road and connect all the way to the cul-de-sac. I have
watched many parents have to go all the way down and around with their childrens strollers to enter
the park. As well as children biking, running or rollerbladin.g and climb the steep ditch instead of
turning around.
Another idea is to add a nature dock to the swamp. There is currently a bench at the side of the
swamp but it would be amazing if there was a dock for people to view the water and see wildlife
from.
I hope my email was helpful and not too much! I plan on attending the meeting March 10th to hear
about all the great ideas!
Thank you,
