I think in general updating, what is there would be great but maybe making it
unique by having a large tire swing or something that people want to come to would be interesting to look into.
Whatever is decided, I know of about 10 very mechanically inclined neighbors that would be willing to help build the
new park as a way to help with the cost and get more for our money. Thanks for all that you do for the community. -
10".
• Needs to have equipment for both young and older kids
• Cement picnic tables by the playground for families to have snacks
• Benches by the playground for parents to sit and watch their kids
• Grills currently at the park don't seem to be used ever so they wouldn't be needed
• Swings for both young and adults - might be able to reuse what is there
• The natural aspect of Pearson Park is very appealing and a nice alternative to the standard commercial
playground equipment.
• What has been done at Brookside Elementary is nice for all ages. Sort of has an obstacle course feel in parts
• Similar to above, things to climb up and slide down are nice but it would be interesting to look into a
cey bars.
The park by the Rum River library has some nice climbing features that kids are always playing on.
The large grassy space in the park is rarely used, maybe it could be changed into a small mountain bike single
track for kids and adults? They don't cost a lot to create and maintain. Carver Lake Park in Woodbury has had
great success with theirs. It might not be the right place for it but something to think about for the future of our
parks.
