Commissioner Johnson asked if the neighbors would be agreeable to the use of a starter pistol on <br />weekdays. <br /> <br />Mr. Buchcrt stated that their concern was just peace of the neighborhood on evenings and <br />weekends, but he would be open to that. <br /> <br />(iloria Demar, 8135 173~° Avenue, stated she trusts Mr. Stevenson, and has not had dogs in her <br />yard, but she has a licensed daycare next door, and wonders if the training area will be fenced. <br />She indicated her kids play right next to the area. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt noted that if the dogs were off Mr. Stevenson's property the City could pull his <br />perlnit. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson asked if Mr. Stevenson has been doing some training already. <br /> <br />Mr. Stevenson indicated he has been. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson stated asked if Ms. Demar has ever had a problem, which she indicated <br />she; has not. <br /> <br />Corem issioncr Johnson stated that the other question was on insurance. <br /> <br />Mt'. Stevenson stated that special insurance is not required, and his parent's homeowners <br />insurance would cover any problems. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked if the perimeter is fenced. <br /> <br />Mr. Stevenson stated it is, but it is not chain link. He indicated he uses an electronic fence, and <br />thc dogs either are on a leash or have an electronic collar. He added that the dogs are kenneled <br />inside except when training, and then he takes them out one at a time. <br /> <br />Ms. l)cmar asked ifa cap gun will be used. <br /> <br />Mr. Stevenson said it would rarely be used, and if it becomes an issue, he will stop using it on <br />silo. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson to close the public hearing at <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Levine, Shepherd, and <br />Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
