Council Business <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig inquired about the type of business done by Dalager Properties, LLC, and <br />what vehicles will be used by the City to provide the $220,000 in assistance. <br /> <br />Economic Development Consultant Mulrooney replied the company is involved in finishing <br />business for the printing industry. The City's assistance will be provided in the form-of Tax <br />Increment Financing, which will include a partial land write down of the site the business <br />anticipates locating on in the City df Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec thanked Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan and Economic <br />Development Consultant Mulrooney for the work they do for the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked what tipped the scale in Dalager Properties' decision to locate in <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Economic Development Consultant Mulrooney replied the presence of Mayor Gamec at the <br />initial meeting with the CEO of Dalager Properties had a lot to do with the decision, as it <br />provided an indication of the City's interest in the company. Another factor in the decision was <br />the availability of the property and the fact that the site is ready to go. This company needs to <br />move now, and having a site ready is a very important aspect. The incentive package was a <br />critical element in the decision as well. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted when he met with the CEO there was mention of the availability of a <br />workforce on the local level as well. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by' Councilmember Jeffrey, to authorize a business <br />subsidy agreement with Dalager Properties, LLC, and to authorize execution-of a development <br />agreement with Dalager Properties, LLC, contingent upon review by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Motion cmT-ied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Cook, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #2: Lions Application for a One-Day 3.2 Beer License <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec indicated the Ramsey Lions have applied for a oneiday, 3.2 beer license, for <br />Happy Days, scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2005. Staff is requesting Council waive the <br />$50 license fee. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated the Lions wilt be holding a barbeque 'in the evening <br />hours during Happy Days and will have a beer tent. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councihnember Jeffrey, to approve the <br />application for the Ramsey Lions Club for a one-day, 3.2 beer license for Happy Days, the City <br /> <br />P52 <br /> <br />Cit3' Council / September 13, 2005 <br /> Page 8 of 33 <br /> <br /> <br />
