Approximately $16,000 will be
needed for the irrigation system at Solstice. The underground portion of the irrigation system at
River's Bend will be about $34,000. However, an additional $18,000 to $25,000 will be required
to route the water supply from the City's municipal well number #2, to the playground area of the
park. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that Anderson Irrigation quoted $13,690 for
Solstice Park and $23,400 for Rivers Bend Park. Council also authorized up to $2,000 for routing
electricity to the irrigation controller at Solstice Park.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated he met with a vendor to sort out the details of the water
supply issue at Rivers Bend. He said he expected the detail would be ready to be presented in
about a month. He explained that some money will need to be "borrowed" from the Solstice
Park allocation for Rivers Bend. The budgeted amounts will be used slightly different than the
Capital Improvements Plan identified.

Commissioner Olds inquired if there is city water at Rivers Bend Park.

Park and Recreation Commission/October 10, 2001
Page 2 of 7
