In the midst <br />of the economic development, NNO provides a <br />perfect opportunity for our residents to enjoy a <br />city-wide celebration with our public officials, fire <br />and police departments. <br /> <br />In support of our National Night Out campaign <br />and city-wide celebrations, the Ramsey City <br />Council signed a.procLamation declaring August <br />2nd NNO in Ramsey, which was taped by cable <br />and aired frequently prior to NNO, <br /> <br />NNO was promoted throughout the entire year <br />at city events such as the annuaL Lion's Picnic, <br />'Kid's ,Safety Camp, Ramsey <br /> <br />Nappy Days Festival, on our city web-site, in the <br />Local newspaper (Anoka County Union) and City <br />newsletter (Ramsey Resident). Registrations <br />arrive in our office eartie~ and ear(ier every <br />year. Of course, priority registration secures a <br />special visit from McGruff E Scruff. (Section 4: <br />Our Campaign) <br /> <br />Our NNO ce(ebrations focused around our <br />Project 365 theme, which this year was "Get a <br />Kit. Make a PLan." Our coloring contest, teen <br />chaLLenge, and NNO Award of ExceLLence <br />contest are designed tO get even the youngest <br />Ramsey' residents thinking about how to react to <br />a disaster. (Section 2: Project 36§) <br /> <br />Businesses sponsor NNO celebrations <br />Local businesses hosted NNO "specials" <br />throughout the week of August 1st and the <br />response was fantastic! The business speciats were <br />promoted through our web site, promo signs, <br />direct mailings and our Local newspaper.. <br /> <br /> We had several major NNO sponsors <br /> including Target stores from two <br /> neighboring communities (we don't <br /> have one in our City-yet!)... who <br /> TAFIGE~, generously donated several bikes, <br /> products, gift certificates and staff. <br />time at NNO events in Ramsey. <br /> <br />children throughout the year. <br /> <br />CenterPoint Energy was able <br />to assist us throughout the <br />evening of celebrations by <br />visiting several of our events <br />and handing out vaLuabLe <br />safety information. <br /> <br />Connexus Energy provided eLectricaL safety <br />presentations at one of the Local events, and <br />then demonstrated their Ladder capabiUties <br />with a few "bucket" rides. <br /> <br />A Local Farmers Insurance agent donated 1,000 <br />Child Identification Kits, and Liberty MutuaL <br />donated staff time and 500 Child Identification <br />DNA kits which were distributed throughout the <br />City.
