Work{lng in parmership with the Federal I--Iighway Administration, the city of <br />Madison and NLnDOT, the Wisconsin Department' of Transportation installed truncated <br />domes on curb ramps at eleven sites in the city of Madison, Wisconsin in the fall of 2002. <br />In tb~e spring of 2003, the various truncated dome products were evaluated for <br />constructability, durability, aesthetics, cost and compliance with the ADA. As a result of <br />this study, only inset truncated dome systems were approved. The report, issued in <br />November 2003, is available on the Wisconsin Department of Transportation website at <br />h l:tp ://www. dot. wisco nsin .for/lib r arv/research/repo frs/sa fet¥.h tm. <br /> <br />Accordingly, Mn_DOT currently does not allow surface applied truncated domes or <br />stamped concrete dome products in Minnesota. There are four types of inset truncated <br />dome products on NLq_DOT's approved products list available at <br />www.mrr.dot.state.mn.us/material/materials.asp.
