Seasonal Maintenance Workers. Seeking a number of individuals to work alongside of our Public Works staff with the general maintenance of streets, park grounds, trails, buildings and related facilities and equipment. These are temporary, non-union positions working forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. All applicants must be at least 17 by June 1, 2022. The wage is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Interviews will be conducted weekly. Application period is open until all 11 positions have been filled. Road Closure Notice for County Road 63/Green Valley Road, from June 14 through June 24 (weather permitting) to complete an emergency culvert replacement project. Time is running out to get your hands on a compost bin and/or rain barrel at a reduced price. The City has partnered with the Recycling Association of Minnesota to serve as a distribution site for their Rain Barrel and Compost Bin sale. Take advantage of this opportunity to get one or both of these items at a reduced price! This sale is pre_ order only and items must be picked up on June 13 at the Public Works facility (14199 Jaspar St NW), between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Parks and Recreation Events and Updates: • Summer Concert Series o The Draw Summer Concert Series starts next week with a performance from Roadhouse Blues! This Concert Series will run on Thursdays from 6:30 — 8:30 pm at The Draw park & amphitheater from June 16 —August 25. • Intro to Pickleball o Come and learn about one of the fastest growing sports in the world in our Intro to Pickleball program on Saturday, July 9 at Central Park from 10:00 am— 12:00 pm. This class will cover an overview of the sport, basic rules and scoring, beginner skills, and time to play. All equipment will be provided for this program. • Women's Hiking Series o Only 3 sessions remain for this Series. It is not too late to join us from 6:00 —7:00 pm on Tuesdays to walk and navigate trails at Rum River Central Regional Park. Learn to orient yourself, read trail maps and plan hiking routes. This series will run until June 28. • Floral Arrangement Workshop Recap o Last month we had 12 participants attend our Floral Arrangement Workshop. The instructor walked participants through making their own beautiful floral arrangements. This class was fully funded by participants and benefited a local florist.
