Council Update <br />Absentee Voting. In -person absentee voting for the General Election begins today (Friday, <br />September 23) and continues through Monday, November 7. Residents may vote at City Hall or <br />at the Anoka County Government Center — Elections Department. The General Election ballot has <br />been proofed and approved by the City Attorney and the City Clerk. <br />Fall Recycling Day Event. The Fall Recycling Day event, Saturday, September 24, from 8:00am <br />to 12:00pm at the Ramsey Public Works facility (14199 Jaspar St NW). This is an opportunity for <br />residents to properly dispose of a number of materials that are not accepted in the curbside <br />recycling program. The following materials will be accepted at the Fall Recycling Day event: <br />Appliances, electronics, tires, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, oil, oil filters, antifreeze, mattresses, box <br />springs, scrap metal, standard curbside materials (e.g. cardboard, aluminum, steel and tin cans, <br />newspaper, plastic bottles, tubs and lids 1 gallon or less in size, glass jars and bottles) and document <br />destruction (limited to no more than 3 boxes of documents). Attached is more information on the <br />event, including fees for the various materials. <br />"Meet and Greet" Coffee and Cookies with the New City Administrator. The primary objective of this position is to provide <br />general and skilled maintenance of public water and sewer utilities. This includes annual <br />maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, software and all other components of the <br />utility systems. Responsibilities will also include building and grounds maintenance in and <br />around utility structures and equipment and responding to utility emergencies as necessary. <br />This position will also be involved in snow plowing of public streets, trails and walks. This <br />is a full-time AFSCME union position. The 2022 hiring wage is $24.389 per hour. <br />Application deadline is 11:59 pm on Sunday September 25, 2022. <br />• Building Insnections Administrative Assistant (PT). Performs a variety of responsible <br />administrative support functions for the Community Development Department, primarily <br />in the Building Inspections Division. This is a part-time 20 hour per week AFSCME union <br />position working 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The 2022 hiring range is <br />$23.262 to $25.589 per hour. This individual is responsible for the planning and <br />implementation of development and redevelopment of residential, commercial and <br />industrial land that help shape a vibrant, sustainable community. This position reports to <br />the City Administrator, exercises significant collaboration with the Leadership Team, <br />strategic partnerships and manages the Community Development Department.
