Meeting Date: 10/18/2022 By: Bruce Westby, Engineering/Public Works Title: Staff Updates on Improvement Projects, Studies and Items of Interest Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to update the Public Works Committee on current and proposed City, County and MnDOT improvement projects and studies, and on other items of interest to the Committee. City Improvement Projects • 161 st Avenue Reconstruction (IP #23-01) o Staff is preparing plans and specifications o Coordinating design and plans with PACT Charter school o Applied for trail grant funding per Council approval o 2023 construction proposed o Staff proposes to construct Central Park parking lot improvements separately • 167th Avenue Reconstruction (IP #23-04) o Staff is preparing plans and specifications o Evaluating regional trail alignment and crossings o Applied for trail grant funding per Council approval o 2023 construction proposed • Sunwood Drive & Waco Street Reconstructions (IP #22-01) o Construction complete e punch list • Autumn Heights Street Reconstructions (IP #22-02) o Construction in progress o Substantial completion by October 31st • 2022 Neighborhood Street Overlay Improvements (IP #22-04) o Construction complete e punch list • Riverdale Drive Trunk Utility Improvements (IP #22-05) • Construction complete e punch list • Wood Pond Hills 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Street Reconstructions (IP #22-06) o Construction complete e punch list • 15410 Argon Street Drainage Improvements (IP #22-14) • See separate case on agenda • Highway 47 Sound Wall north of Xkimo Street (IP #22-17) o Staff will be present a case requesting PWC action on November 15, 2022 • WTP Trunk Watermain Improvements (#21-08) • Plans are being revised to minimize project costs and to include WTP commissioning improvements (well -house valves, etc.). • Staff will request Council authorization to advertise bids when material prices decline • Centralized Water Treatment Plant (#21-09) • Final plans complete • Staff will request Council authorization to advertise bids when material prices decline • Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements (IP #20-11) • Final design / property acquisitions underway • Bolton & Menk preparing 95-percent plans and specifications • Construction anticipated 2023 through early 2026 (2024 - 2025 majority) • Riverdale Drive east of SLB & temp US 10 widening Spring/Summer 2023 • Riverdale Drive Extension — Llama Street to Bowers Drive (IP #20-05)
