Case <br /> <br />UPDATE ON TH 47 PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AT 142?~ AVENUE <br /> By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />g,~ckground: <br /> <br />The Public Works committee reviewed the elements of the TH 47 safety improvement <br />project in the January 2005 meeting. At that meeting the committee recommended that <br />d~e marked pedestrian crossing at 142no Avenue be eliminated to discourage crossing at <br />what is felt to be a hazardous location. The City Council ratified this recommendation at <br />':he February 8, 2005 meeting. <br /> <br />The plans for this summer's project, however, perpetuated the pedestrian crossing. Staff <br />has contacted the district highway engineer for MnDot to request that ti-tis crossing be <br />removed. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Since the city council has previous provided direction on ~is issue, no action is required <br />at this time.
