He asked <br />if' there was a consideration to look into the greenway plan. He noted that City Council Member <br />::4trommcn mentioned the greenway plan. He wondered what that timeframe was. He stated that <br />if ii was something that needed to be done by the end of the year, it could potentially take longer. <br /> <br />Council Member Strommen stated that the timeline was still evolving. She stated that possibly <br />by thc end o[ this year, the EPB would be involved in the greenway plan. <br /> <br />Ch;firpcrs(m McDilda asked if there was any intent to have a new comprehensive plan by the end <br />,~)1' thc year, Council Member Strommen stated that it wasn't feasible. She stated that at one time <br />it was thc intent to update the comprehensive plan by the end of the year, but that that is now an <br />t)utdatcd ti melYame. <br /> <br />l:,nvirrmmcntal Specialist Bruce Bacon stated that by his own relevant observation, the agenda is <br />set bct'or~: thc meetings start. He stated that he felt it is important to get oriented as far as how <br />these issues might play out, including trees, water, and the greenway plan, at public meetings and <br />cd, tcational lhnctions. He stated that he felt it would be good for the committee to be <br />considering how they want to fbrward this agenda, separate from that, and then figure out a way <br />i,o package that. He stated that the earlier the discussion occurs, it will reveal the shape and gives <br />thc I:!P[] a better chance to be players in the setting of the agenda, rather than reactors. <br /> <br />Chairpcr:;on McDilda asked if it would be possible to have packets delivered to this group at the <br />same t[mc that packets are being sent for the City Council. The EPB members concurred that <br />thi24 would be a good idea. Council Member Strommen stated that the packets get mailed out for <br />ibc City Council Members, and the packets get e-mailed to the EDA members and Planning <br />Co mm ission members. <br /> <br />I_~(~ard Member b/lax asked what the preference of the other group members would be, e-mail <br />vei'sus [J.S. mail. Board Member Olds stated that he preferred the U.S. mail. Chairperson <br />;vh:Dilda stated that he didn't feel like the cost of e-mailing was as prudent as regular mail since <br />thc: packt~ges were quite large and expensive to mail. He instructed staff member Chris <br />A~ndcrson to take this request to the Community Development Director as a consideration. <br /> <br />Ct~airperson McDilda asked the EPB members if meeting on Monday worked for everyone on <br />thc 13oar'd. I.fe asked if the EPB members would be interested in extending the time of the <br />meeting ti'om 2 to 3 hours if necessary. He asked board members to consider that.
