Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall mean: <br /> <br /> ~3ike~: Any person riding upright on a wheeled device propelled by human power, having two (2) <br />tandem wheels either of which is over twenty (20) inches in diameter and including a device generally' <br />r~:cognized as a bicycle though equipped with two (2) front or two (2) rear wheels to provide greater <br />'~abiiit,/due to the physical disability of the person. <br /> <br /> Jogger: Any person afoot and traveling at a rate of speed such that both feet are at intervals not <br />ir'. contact with the ground. <br /> <br /> Pathway: That portion of a park or parkway improved, designated or ordinarily used for travel by <br />loot and/or wheeled device. <br /> <br /> Roller skater: Any person riding or propelling oneself by human power or gravity on wheeled <br />,._'.evices thai are worn on a person's feet or stood upon by a person. Such devices specifically include, <br />bu~ are not limited to, roller skates, in-line skates, roller skis and sk.,ate~soa~-d,.s. <br /> <br /> Walker: Any person afoot and traveling at a rate of speed such that one foot is always in contact <br />with ~he ground. Signs will be posted to designate each pathway in a park as restricted as a pedestrian <br />p, aih "or use by or for use as a bicycle path by walkers,.bikers and roller skaters, or both. (Pk. Bd. No biker shall ride a bicycle and no roller skater shall ride or propel roller skates on any <br />desi?.a[ed pedestrian pathway, except where such pathway is also a designated bicycle pathway. No biker shall <br />~"~de ~ bicycle on any pathway, whether improved or not, where the board has erected signs designating such <br />pathway as a "No Biking" pathway. No walker shall walk and no jogger shall jog on any designated bicycle <br />paff~way, except where such pathway is also a designated pedestrian pathway. (Pk. Bd. Ord. No person shall use pathways carelesslY, recklessly, or heedlessly in disregard of the <br />rights or the .safety of others. (Pk. Bd. Ord. No. 81-102, § 1, 5-20-81) <br /> <br />I-d?.7.5..5. Duty to keep to the right. Persons using the pathways shall remain upon the right half of the pathway <br />except when overtaking and passing another user proceeding in the same direction. (Pk. Bd. Ord. No. 81-102, § <br />',, 5~:Z04],1 ) <br /> <br />PB7.5-6_ Meeting other users. Persons proceeding in opposite directions shall pass each other to the right and <br />,}n;ail give to the other at least one-half of the pathway as nearly as possible. (Pk. Bd. Ord. No. 81-102, § 1,5-20- <br /> <br /> PB7.5-7. Overtaking and passing.
