It was noted that with the Town
C. entc~' tl~cy would be seeding more area with this campus.

Cou~cil~ncmber Elvig stated the Public Works Department has a significant need, as the
cl~:partn~cnt is basically working out of a tin shed with make shift offices. There are a certain
amount of' improvements that will be required when they look at the size of the City and where
riley arc going. Also, it seems natural that the City would get fairly aggressive about acquiring
tl~e last chunl~ of land available that is connected with this property.

('ou~-~cil~ncmber Zimmerman asked if the land at the northwest corner of the facility out to
1 ,i~n~it~ Street is part of the land the City is negotiating for.

City /\dministrator Norman replied it is not currently, but the land is in the City's plan for
n %oti~tions. The City ires been in contact regarding this, but they are not in active negotiation.

Cou~cilmcmber Elvig stated the sooner this land could be acquired it would be better with the
gt'(),,,vth (~'Town Center. The property will not get any less expensive as they go along.

;ou~lcilmembcr Coolc noted they may want to look in this area for land for a water plant at some
The l~md will not get any cheaper with the development across the street from it.

City Council/August 10, 2004

47
