<br />Councilmember Musgrove aye <br />Councilmember Specht aye <br />Councilmember Riley aye <br />Councilmember Howell aye <br />Councilmember Woestehoff aye <br />Councilmember Heineman aye <br />Mayor Kuzma aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />7.03: Introduce Ordinance #22-25 Pertaining to Mobile Food Units <br /> <br />Planning Manager Larson reviewed the staff report and recommendation to approve the ordinance <br />for mobile food units. <br /> <br />Mayor Kuzma asked about private homeowners bringing food trucks to their homes and if it would <br />have to be parked on grass. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Larson shared that a special event permit would waive these requirements. <br /> <br />Mayor Kuzma asked about what this would mean for Happy Days. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Larson shared this would also fall under the special event permit. <br /> <br />Councilmember Howell asked if there was a requirement for restaurants for 100-foot separation. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Larson stated there is no rule regarding that, unless it is a lease restriction, which <br />are private matters. <br /> <br />Councilmember Howell asked if a restaurant owner wanted a food truck and it was less than 100 <br />feet from another restaurant if that would be allowed. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Larson shared the restaurant would be able to waive the requirement. <br /> <br />Councilmember Howell shared she is concerned with the 100-foot separation if it is not a <br />requirement for other restaurants in the City. <br /> <br />City Administrator Hagen stated the benefit of the 100-foot separation is that it shows support for <br />the brick and mortar restaurants. <br /> <br />Councilmember Woestehoff shared the provision that states the need for written permission from <br />the restaurant owner and added that this is often different than the property owner. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Larson said that a situation could arise where the restaurants feel threatened by <br />a food truck. <br /> <br />City Council / October 11, 2022 <br />Page 7 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
